Lordship week

Last Friday, a guy named Coach Powers came and did a seminar on health and getting your body into shape so you can serve God into your old age. So M, W, F Angela is heading up doing a calisthenics workout and does sprints on Tuesday and Thursday. I went on Wednesday and this morning and I am pretty sore, but it’s a good sore!!
This week we have been taught by Ezra Griffiths. He works on staff here at YWAM Orlando. He has been teaching on the topic of Lordship. He reinforced some things I’ve learned before, so it was a lot of making my foundation stronger. He told his testimony to show what God can do by picking someone up out of a pit of mire. Lordship is about centering God, obedience and surrender. Every once in a while, Ezra would go off on these little tangents, but it was stuff we needed to hear. We went through the works of the flesh, which are found in Galatians right before the fruits of the Spirit. He made the point that Jesus lived out the Fruits of the Spirit out 100%. He went through the works of the flesh and explained exactly what they mean. He also gave the Greek meaning for the words, which I love!! I would love to know Hebrew and Greek so get the full effect of the Bible. He talked about the word “lasciviousness” which means to stir up within you desires, which is flirting. I was convicted about this, because I’ve never seen anything wrong with it. But there it is, right in God’s Word!! He said that as a single woman the thing I should be looking for in a man (besides loving Jesus and a relationship with God) is self-control! And the thing I should be working on is being content wherever I’m at. I need to show patience and give grace to those around me!! Lordship is a lifestyle and it’s not easy. I want God to know that anytime, any place, anywhere, I am His woman!! We looked at the Fellowship Offering in Leviticus 3:3-4 and how it explains that we should be offering God our choicest parts, our minds, and more than we need to. We went over serving God with our heart, soul, mind, and strength. I was challenged to ask myself the question, ‘Are the two things keeping me from Christ comfort and convenience?’ I need to break my life open and offer to God the most valuable thing I own, which is my life. He really highlighted that we need to be praying for the unsaved. Imagine not knowing any Christians and never having anyone pray for you!! What would that be like!? What a dark place!! What are you praying for, American Christian? The prosperity religion prayer? He talked about money and that the reason we are blessed is to bless others!!
Ezra read from Foxe’s Book of Martyrs about John Hooper who was on fire for at least 45 minutes and was praising God through all of it. He talked about the fact that Jesus said that if we follow Him, we will definitely go through trials and tribulations!! He said that when God gives you a vision or goal for your life, look for mile markers to make sure you’re still on the right path.
We heard about how there is still a lot of the world that hasn’t heard the Gospel. I want to be one of those people that goes out there and tells those people!!!!!! Here I am Lord, SEND ME!!!! We are all commanded to fulfill the Great Commission – are you supposed to go or send???
I am out of time, but yeah, those are the biggest things I took away this week!
